Fan Qing is one of the finest Chinese euphonium soloists today. He has given numerous workshops and concerts throughout China and has performed often in Europe.

Born in Shanghai China, Fan Qing began his musical studies at 4 with the piano, and joined his middle school band later as a baritone player when he was 12. After winning the prize of Shanghai’s Spring Music Festival of Brass Competition, he moved to Austria. At that time he was given lessons by numerous great brass players, such as Steven Mead, Dietmar Küblböck, Friedrich Loimayr, Brian Bowman, Hakazono schoichiro among many others.

From 2005 Fan Qing studied at the Berne University of Arts, Switzerland, majoring in euphonium with Swiss euphonium soloist Thomas Rüedi, and Roland Fröscher. Upon graduating in summer 2009, he continued to study band conducting with Ludwig Wicki and finished his Master degree in performing arts in 2011.

Fan Qing has played with several of the finest bands in Europe, including the World Youth Wind Orchestra, Akademischen Bläserphilharmonie Vienna, Brass band Berner Oberland, Brass Band Rapperswil-Wierezwil and La Landwehr de Fribour.

Over the years, Fan Qing has attended a number of workshops and masterclasses with the worlds best brass player, such as Steven Mead, Brian Bowman, David Childs, Shoichiro Hakazono, Hans Gansch and Jens Björn-Larsen.

As a Soloist, Fan Qing has given concerts in Switzerland, Japan and some of the most important cities in China such as Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou and Wuhan.

Currently Fan Qing plays in the China, with the Dunshan Symphonic Wind Orchestra as Co-Principal Euphonium.
